Jeff Caruso, Executive Director
Jeffrey F. Caruso, J.D., is the founding Director of the Virginia Catholic Conference, established by Bishops Loverde and DiLorenzo to advance the mutual public-policy interests of the Commonwealth’s two Catholic dioceses. Originally from Maryland, Mr. Caruso spent two years practicing law in his native state and then more than six years as one of three associate directors at the Maryland Catholic Conference before coming to Virginia in January of 2005. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1993, with a B.S. in Mathematics and Psychology, and from Notre Dame Law School in 1996. He and his wife reside in Fredericksburg and belong to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Christopher Ramos, Associate Director
Christopher Ramos, MPA, is the Associate Director of the Virginia Catholic Conference. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Virginia Tech and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Ramos' diverse professional background before joining the Conference includes legislative staff experience at the Virginia General Assembly and extensive communications experience, including work as an educator and copywriter. He was raised in Richmond, Virginia, where he currently resides. He is a parishioner at St. Bridget Church.
Lynne Liggan, Office Manager
Lynne-Marie Liggan is the Conference’s Office Manager. Beginning in 1990, Mrs. Liggan immersed herself in the activities of St. Patrick’s parish in Smithtown, New York, working as the Office Manager for Monsignor Paul H. Walsh. After Msgr. Walsh was ordained Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre in 2003, he appointed Mrs. Liggan to be his office’s Executive Assistant until her move to Virginia in August of 2004. Mrs. Liggan and her husband, Tom, are blessed with three children and one grandson. She and her family attend St. John Neumann Parish, Powhatan, and she calls St. Peter's her parish in downtown Richmond.
Diana Snider, Assistant for Communications, Outreach and Research
Diana Sims Snider is the Virginia Catholic Conference’s first communications professional. She has extensive experience in public relations and newspaper reporting and editing. Before coming to VCC she was public relations coordinator at Education for Parish Service, an education program for adult Catholics, which served the Archdiocese of Washington and the Dioceses of Arlington, and Bridgeport. In addition, she managed communications at the American Red Cross, Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region in Nashville, TN and the Greater New Haven (CT) Chamber of Commerce. She continues to provide communications consulting to Catholic organizations. Mrs. Snider and her husband, Keith, have four sons and are parishioners at St. Louis Parish, Alexandria.
